Light-Rail Vehicle Testing on Campus

Testing on the UMD campus is scheduled to begin in during the Spring 2026 semester. 

The testing will be conducted overnight on selected days from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day. In these initial phases of testing, construction vehicles and police will escort the light-rail vehicles (LRV) and close nearby cross streets and sidewalks for brief periods, as the LRVs move slowly through campus.
